Teacher Spotlight: Amber Dlugosh

Teacher Spotlight: Amber Dlugosh

Today's spotlight is on Amber Dlugosh!

Ms. Dlugosh teaches College Composition at Bolivar High School. We decided to ask her a few questions.
Q : What are you most afraid of right now?
A : I'm most afraid of getting trapped in anxiety and depression. I've struggled with anxiety since 7th grade, but hit some really rough stuff this summer that mocked all of coping skills. It's scary to feel like you're powerless to fix something--and it feels like you're not in control of y
our own brain. So, I guess I'm simultaneously most thankful for and most afraid of my brain.
Q : What’s the happiest moment of your life?
A : It's really hard to nail down one moment as the happiest, but when I think of the timeline of life there is one event that really stands out. When my friends Anna and Ryan got married. It was the only time two of my friends got married, so the entire wedding party was my friend group. We danced so hard at that reception that I was fearful the floor would cave in. There was so much joy!
Q : What is something you look forward to in the coming years of your life?
A : A lot of my friends have had kids in recent years, and I'm so excited to see them grow and mature! I'm also starting a book, a dream I've had for awhile but have been too scared to pursue. We'll see!
Q : Who is the most influential person in your life?
A : Oh gosh... I can't even! I have so many amazing friends that inspire me daily; it is too hard to pick a most influential.
In true Ms. Dlugosh fashion, she ended her responses with “Cheering you on!”
Your students appreciate you more than you know!
