Bolivar R-1 Schools is proud to celebrate Julia Jones for successfully completing her Dental Assistant Registered Apprenticeship through OCHC’s Bolivar clinic and
the district’s BoMo Works program.
Julia’s journey into healthcare began during her junior year at Bolivar High School when she enrolled in the Health Occupations program. Through the program, she discovered her passion for healthcare and developed a particular interest in the dental field. During her senior year, Julia began working at OCHC’s Bolivar clinic through BoMo Works, gaining valuable hands-on experience while still in high school.

That early experience proved to be an important part of her success as she continued her education at Ozarks Technical Community College (OTC), where she recently completed the Dental Assisting program. The knowledge and skills Julia gained through her on-the-job training helped prepare her for success in the classroom and throughout her college program.

“I am so thankful I had the opportunity to gain hands-on training while I was still in high school. The experience I gained at OCHC helped me be successful in my classes and throughout the Dental Assisting program at OTC. Having that real-world experience gave me a strong foundation and helped me feel more prepared as I continued my education,” Julia said.

With her dental assisting education and apprenticeship experience behind her, Julia plans to continue pursuing her goal of becoming a dental hygienist.

Julia’s accomplishment demonstrates the value of connecting students with meaningful career experiences while they are still in high school. Through BoMo Works, students can gain real-world experience, develop industry-specific skills, and build relationships with local employers while continuing their education and preparing for future careers.

“We are incredibly proud of Julia and the steps she has taken to pursue her passion for healthcare. Her journey is a great example of what can happen when students have opportunities to learn in the classroom and apply that knowledge in a real-world setting. We are grateful for partners like OCHC who invest in our students and help them build a strong foundation for their future careers,” said Ashley Clift, Director of Career & Technical Education at Bolivar R-1 Schools.

Bolivar R-1 Schools extends a special thank-you to OCHC for its continued partnership with BoMo Works and its commitment to training the next generation of dental professionals in our community. Partnerships like this help students turn their interests into career opportunities while strengthening the local workforce.
